Contain the clutter!

We all have a corner where we have misc. stuff just sitting around. Contain it! It will make the area look intentional. Find a cute basket, or decorative container. I used an antique replica wire farm basket here. I added some decorative items to improve the overall look. If you have several items that you don't want to look at consider using a decorative box with a lid. Consider containing your books, toys or other various items you have sitting on shelves or dressers.

The cute pictures of the baskets that I have posted here are from Hulla Baloo home decor

Just for fun!

Happy Valentines Day! Just wanted to post a few pictures of my Valentine Day Decor.

The centerpiece is glittered hearts sprinkled around 3 linen colored candles. They are placed on a sturdy pedestal.

The mantle has a cute Valentine Fairy with a cutout glittered heart. On the mantel is red crystal berry garland and greenery.

Enjoy your "Valentines" today!

Spring Fever?

Spring Fever? I know I have it! I have a few quick tips to help you spruce up your front porch. Sweep, clean and a touch of decor!
A quick sweep can make a world of difference after winter has left its mark. Clean your windows by your entryway and add some simple decorative touches.

Valentines Day is just around the corner. Get some simple black lanterns and add some bright colored candles. Sprinkle with glittered hearts. You can also buy some small potted primroses to fill in the voids. After Valentines is over switch out the hearts for an Easter or spring item. If you want something that will have a more classic look add polished rocks!

Lastly- Buy a new doormat! A nice new doormat freshens up any boring entry! If your budget doesn't allow for a new door mat then clean your existing one! Touch it up if it is faded. Simple acrylic paint can breathe new life into most mats.

These are all quick inexpensive way to bring some color to you porch. (If you live in a really cold climate add evergreen plants instead of primroses.)
(Hint... I am not really an IKEA girl but....I purchased all three lanterns there for under $30.00!)
